Education Programs:

The Society's Education committee develops programs in cooperation with the Chappaqua schools. Representative activities include:

·A tour of the Horace Greeley House for second graders, as part of their town history program

·A tour for fourth and fifth graders of early New Castle and sites important in the American Revolution
·Historical content for combined historical and environmental research papers done by middle school students

·Independent research opportunities for high school students


In addition, members of the Education Committee design and organize tours and projects for groups such as Boy and Girl Scouts and the Chappaqua Summer Scholarship Program. Educational Programs are offered to the general public through out the year. They include:
· Craft programs for adults and children
· Exploring American Dolls through fashion and embroidery for children
· Lectures and slide presentations for adult and youth groups
· Mini -camp for elementary school aged children in the summer
